Pleasant shopping centers for all

Several Klépierre shopping centers in France, Norway, Portugal and Iberia have set up special time slots during which their sound and visual environment is adapted to the specific needs of the elderly, the disabled or those who simply need peace and quiet when visiting. For example, the lighting in the centers is dimmed, the background music is switched off and the scent is stopped. In most of the participating centers, hypermarkets and retailers are also joining in the effort to respect these silent time slots.

Other initiatives have been put in place for people with colour blindness such as in the Portuguese shopping center, Espaço Guimarães, which has deployed the ColorADD symbol system. This is yet another project aimed at the integration of all visitors, which through non-intrusive signage complements the already existing color communication system, facilitating orientation, accessibility and identification of existing services and spaces.
