100Olives Project

Since 2019, Nueva Condomina in Spain has decided to implement the “1000 Olives Project”. It was indeed decided to plant 1,000 olive trees. The aim was then to harvest the olives to make olive oil and to offer the benefit to local charities.

This project is a good way to reconcile sustainable development with the planting of trees in a rather arid region (1,000 new trees enable to reduce carbon footprint by 10 tons a year) but also development of a local project with an economic and social dimension.

The olive oil is sold to the locals and the profits are donated to an NGO. In addition, planting and harvesting activities are organized for schools and associations in the surrounding towns, a good way to include the shopping center in the daily life of the community.
