New green mobility services
In 2021, Klépierre launched the “Re-Energy” project in Iberia, in order to meet the need for charging stations for electric vehicles in the parking lots of its centers. Following the success of the pilot project in Principe Pio, 8 centers have been or will soon be equipped with charging stations. In total, 121 charging points will offer optimized charging time at a reasonable price by the end of the year.
This project is based on a new business model that capitalizes on multiple revenue-generating opportunities, such as the sale of electricity, sponsorship and speciality leasing. All revenues generated by the project will be reinvested in additional bollards.
Furthermore, according to our staff on site, this is a service that customers are increasingly requesting to take advantage of their time in the shopping center to charge their cars.
