Educating visitors and locals, and raising their awareness of sustainable food. That’s the responsible program adopted by the Markthal in 2019. Organized by the City of Rotterdam and the neighboring towns, the “World Food Festival” was again held at the center. This major event testifies to the ambition of the Rotterdam Food Cluster to stimulate job opportunities, the spirit of enterprise, innovation and collaboration in the region’s food sector. While schoolchildren were learning more about potatoes, the shopping center’s restaurants and stalls donated their food waste to the “No waste lunch”.
